"HEY WORKSHOP, ARE YOU READY?!"
For the past 68 summers, Summer Workshop has been OASL’s signature and premier student leadership development experience, described by participants as life-changing and the highlight of their summer! We are excited as we prepare for another summer with you! For 2022, OASL will offer two Summer Workshops:
July 13-17: Capital University (Bexley, OH) - Senior High & Middle Level
July 20-24: Capital University (Bexley, OH) - Senior High Only
What is Summer Workshop? OASL Summer Leadership Workshop is a 5-day, 4-night residential summer camp opportunity for student leaders in middle school and high school. Through OASL, diverse student leaders from across Ohio find connection with peers who want to positively impact their world. Through experiential activities, fun and games, skill-building sessions, and personal reflection opportunities, Summer Workshop participants learn how to better work together to develop creative solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of our schools and communities. Following summer workshop, students return home with knowledge, skills, and conviction to make a lasting difference in all they encounter.
Who attends Summer Workshop? OASL welcomes ALL middle and high school students who are interested in developing as leaders for positive change. Summer workshop is for students from any organization, club, athletic team, or school group in Ohio. You do not have to hold a leadership position to participate in OASL programs; if you are interested in leadership and energized to learn more, then Workshop is for you! We hope you will come to workshop with a desire and the spirit to learn, to try new things, and to share your talents, ideas, and feelings with others. If you do that, we promise you will leave with more information than you ever thought you could remember, with more new friends than you thought you could make, and with a feeling that you can make a positive difference in your school, community, and in the lives of the people you know!
What does Summer Workshop cost? The cost to attend this exciting week-long workshop is only $320.00 for students from OASL member schools, or $350.00 for students from non-member schools. This includes everything for the week, including all program elements and materials as well as lodging and meals. A $100.00 deposit is required to register, with the balance due upon arrival to Workshop. Students with financial need may apply for a $100.00 scholarship. See the scholarship application linked below.
What about COVID-19? Extensive preparations are being made to ensure that we have the best experience possible ready for you upon your arrival. We are THRILLED that OASL is able to host our workshops on site, but safety will remain a primary concern for all of us. We will continue to monitor the pandemic situation across the state and with our partners at Capital University. OASL will follow both university and state recommendations and guidelines for in-person programs. Signed waivers and mandatory protocols will be required and are included in our digital forms packet.
I'm in! How do I sign up? See the registration form and other required forms linked below, as well as the participant information packet (this is key!) Everything you need to know to sign up and plan for your week at Summer Workshop is included there.
What if I have questions? First, take a look through the information packet and other resources below. If you still can't find what you're looking for, feel free to reach out to our programming team at the contact information below.
